We are thrilled to share that Friday night's Neighborhood Gala fundraiser was a success! Through generous donations and the support from friends, family, neighbors, and partners, we raised over $650,000!

Reaching this achievement and getting the chance to celebrate with everyone was a true highlight for all of us at USES. We were very excited to have old and new friends join us, including Boston City Council President Ruthzee Louijeune, Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn, Representative John Moran, and Representative Aaron Michlewitz. We also held space to recognize a few outstanding members of our Boston community with the help from actress and activist Eliza Dushku, and Mel King's wife and son: Joyce and Jomo King. Recipients of our 2024 awards:

Philip Dushku Changemaker award
Bekah Salwasser, Executive Vice President, Social Impact | Boston Red Sox & Executive Director | Red Sox Foundation

Mel King Social Innovator award
Frieda Garcia, activist
Byron Rushing, former MA State Representative

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us on May 10th. If you were not able to attend, but would like to learn more or support our mission, please explore our website! If you are interested in watching the short video that played during the evening, please click here.
