Many sessions to meet your needs! | Summer 2023 Dates | Our Sliding Scale

At United South End Settlements, we are devoted to disrupting the cycle of poverty by harnessing the power of our diverse community. At Camp Hale, we are living our mission by engaging campers of all income levels to join the Camp Hale community and promoting meaningful relationship-building in everyday life.

We offer a sliding scale, which is based on household size and household income to determine affordable camper fees, ranging from $142 to $2,625 for a 2-week session.

Our goal is to build a diverse community with a focus on creating access to a high-quality summer sleepaway experience many children might not otherwise have. Camp Hale is dedicated to offering children a welcoming environment where they will live, eat, play, and learn people of all different backgrounds.

Many sessions to meet your needs!

Rookie Camp: Ideal for first-time campers ages 5-11 years old. This session is combined with core sessions so campers can connect with the full camp community. Most rookies sign up for a full session the following year!

Sessions 1-4: The core of our program! These 2-week sessions are for youth ages 5-15. Campers can enroll in gender-specific sessions for 2 weeks or up to 4 weeks. Cabins and activities will be determined based on age and experience. Each week will have specialized programs, hikes, and challenges that get more advanced as the weeks progress.

Family Camp Weekend:  Enjoy an all-inclusive family vacation (meals, lodging, and activities) away from the city life and take in the beautiful outdoors. Accommodations range from our new private 2-bedroom cabins to our 40-bed traditional lodge. All lodges provide modern amenities, blended with traditional camp environment, and are located a few steps from Squam Lake.

Leader in Training (LIT): This transformative 4-week program is designed for young leaders ages 14-15. Teen leaders will develop their leadership, teamwork, and communication skills closely with staff and campers. Preference is given to returning campers, but new applicants are encouraged to apply.

Counselor in Training (CIT): This program is for young leaders ages 16-17. This role is designed for CIT’s to work alongside experienced counselors to prepare to take on more responsibility the next year.  CIT’s are expected to lead activities, help campers get acclimated to the camp environment, and coach the Leaders in Training. CIT’s live in the cabins and are in the ratio for supervision. The Counselor in Training program is designed to challenge teenagers and prepare them to be successful in leadership positions. While these role models are helping to change the lives of the campers, they are developing meaningful work readiness and relationships that will last a lifetime.
