On Friday, January 21, United South End Settlements (USES) celebrated students from the Home Health Aide (HHA) program as they received their CPR and First Aid certificates after successfully passing their exams. The HHA program trains students to build the skills they need to become a Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and begin a career in the healthcare field.

The ceremony was an opportunity for students to relish in their achievements and share their motivations with students, teachers, and friends in attendance.

Patricia Rogers enrolled in the HHA class to get closer to her goal of working as a Medical Assistant caring for elderly patients. “I really like the elderly and they often don’t have the love they need,” said Patricia. “Learning about how to help the elderly has been my favorite part of the class.”

“This program gives me the opportunity to take care of people who need help,” said Ingryd Guevara, currently a student in both USES' HiSET and HHA programs. “It is good to know how to take care of others. Before this class, I didn’t know how to prevent sickness.”

Home Health Aides play a unique role in the health care industry. They enable patients to stay in their homes by providing personal support and services, monitoring the patient’s condition, and helping to educate the families of the patient. Claire Sweeney, the course instructor, is a retired RN and lifetime educator. She is confident of what is to come for all of her students. Safest place to order Tadalafil online - http://www.bantuhealth.org/tadalafil-buy/.

“I personally believe every person in this group can have a successful career as a Home Health Aide,” said Claire. “Everyone is here because she wants to do good. By United South End Settlements offering this program, I think we can make a significant impact in the community. I don’t know of better work.”
