Charlotte Goff, Volunteer Coordinator

2015 has come and gone. 2016 is here. It’s time to come up with some meaningful goals for self-improvement. We can’t help you with all your resolutions (you really should floss more, by the way,) but we have some great ideas for you. Here are ten ways that you can fulfill your New Year’s resolutions with USES.

Connect to Your Community...

Attend a Harriet Tubman Gallery Opening

Join your neighbors and attend the many engaging and thought-provoking Harriet Tubman Gallery openings throughout the year. Next up is The Theresa Show, a fiber arts exhibit and silent auction to benefit the Theresa-India Young Ethnic Weaving Scholarship on January 15. Learn more here.

Lend a Hand to Hungry Neighbors

In partnership with the Greater Boston Food Bank, the Commodity Supplemental Food Program works to improve the health of low-income individuals 60 years of age and older by supplementing their diets with 35lbs of groceries each month. For more info on how to get involved, contact me, Charlotte, at

Take a Walking Tour with Your Neighbors

See the South End from a whole new perspective. Once a month from May to September, USES' Neighborhood Walks takes you on a guided tour exploring the history, architecture, public art, culture, and more of our neighborhood. To learn more or even suggest your own topic, email Evan at
