Engaging Youth in Remote Learning and Enrichment:
- Maintain high-quality early childhood education and school age programming for our current children and their families via remote learning platforms (e.g., “Zoom Circle Times”, daily curriculum lessons and tutoring, and enrichment activities) so children can continue their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Continue to expose our youth to STEAM based learning through Zoom activities, weekly challenges and pre-designed activities for families to do together at their leisure.
Providing Family Support and Connection:
- Support families by conducting wellness check-ins, offering virtual coaching and financial literacy, and providing resources to support basic needs
- Assist families who are experiencing food insecurity by providing care packages, helping to apply for SNAP & WIC, and creating a network of support that connects families in need with those in our community that are able/willing to help
Enhancing Program Quality through Professional Development:
- Ensure all staff have access to virtual professional development opportunities so they have access to relevant professional resources, are prepared to support families in this new alternative reality, and can “hit the ground running” when the crisis is contained.
Awarding neighbor2neighbor mini grants:
- USES is raising money that can directly impact and help families through this crisis. Current USES families can apply for mini grants to help pay for food, rent/mortgage, utilities, child care, etc.
