Intergenerational Thanksgiving Feast

This year we’re thankful for our program participants, students, volunteers, board members and staff. On Tuesday all gathered together in the Harriet Tubman House atrium for an Intergenerational Thanksgiving Feast. Thank you to all the event volunteers who donated, prepared, and served a wide variety of delicious food. Your generosity made the feast such a success.

In addition to the plentiful spread, guests were provided with entertainment by USES program participants. The lineup began with the dulcet tones of preschoolers from Miss Ana’s Starfish class singing Let It Go from Frozen and Bill Wither’s Lean on Me.

Next, graduates from Workforce Readiness courses delivered speeches, giving thanks to the teachers and volunteers that have supported them on their journey.

Guests were also treated to a performance by the Platinum Singers, USES’ Senior Voice Class and Chorus. The group’s set list included I Whistle a Happy Tune by Rogers and Hammerstein from The King and I, I Got Rhythm by George and Ira Gershwin, How Great Thou Art by Carl Boberg, and Sing by Joe Raposo.
