Fall Senior Creative Arts Class Begins

October 28, 2014 | 0 Comments

The Senior Creative Arts class has begun again for the fall! This session, the class is exploring printmaking.

In printmaking, the artists creates a plate, a design that can be printed repeatedly, often by carving into a surface. They then roll ink over the surface of the plate, press paper onto it and pull their print. This past week, we made prints from carved Styrofoam. Next month we will be taking a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts to see three exhibits related to the art of printmaking.

Check out the photos below or stop by the Lincoln House Room at 566 Columbus Ave. Thursdays from 1:30 – 3 p.m. to see what the senior artists are working on. Click here to learn more about our Senior Services programs.
