Children's Art Centre    Artful Transformations Program    South End Center for Adult Education

USES offers a variety of art and cultural enrichment classes for children, teens, and adults.

Children's Art Centre

The Children’s Art Centre (CAC) was the first public fine arts museum designed exclusively for children. Today, the CAC, with a commitment to superior arts programming for children, continues to be a neighborhood landmark, bringing art and cultural programs to the community regardless of race, ethnic background, or ability to pay. Arts instruction reflects the Boston Public Schools’ curriculum standards in the visual and performing arts, and through our wide-range of programming, young artists explore their creativity under the guidance of professional artists. Our current programs include: Pre-school and After-school arts programs, classes for children and families, Teen Portfolio, and John Hancock Arts in the Parks for Kids.

Artful Transformations Program

USES' Artful Transformations Program serves young people who may have already crossed the line into social, academic or legal difficulties. These youth and their families live in the Greater Boston area and struggle with challenges born of poverty, displacement, language barriers and public health concerns. The program helps young people be successful in all areas of their lives through skill-building in the arts, art-making, performance, and exhibition of their work. An increased cyber arts component was implemented in the Fall of 2003 using USES' Timothy Smith Computer Learning Center.
